Honors Diploma Information

 
High School Academic Diploma with Honors for the Graduating Classes of 2011 and Beyond
(Students need to fulfill only 7 of the 8 criteria listed below)
 
 
 SUBJECTCRITERIA
 English
4 units
 Mathematics4 units, including Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra II or equivalent and another higher level course or a four year sequence of courses that contain equivalent course content
 Science4 units, including Physics and Chemistry
 Social Studies
4 units
 Foreign Language
3 units, including at least 2 units in each language studied
 Fine Arts
1 unit
 Career-TechnicalNot counted toward requirements and may not be used to meet requirements
 Grade Point Average     
3.5 on a 4.0 scale
 ACT/SAT Score
27 ACT or 1210 SAT (excluding scores from the writing sections)

High School Career-Technical Education Diploma with Honors for the Graduating Classes of 2011 and Beyond
(Students need to fulfill only 7 of the 8 criteria listed below)

Career-Technical                                                                                                             4 units in a program that leads to a industry-recognized credential, results in an apprenticeship or is part of an articulated career pathway that can lead to post-secondary credit.  It the student's program design does not provide for any of the outcomes, then the student must achieve the proficiency benchmark established for the applicable Ohio career-technical competency assessment or the equivalent.
Grade Point Average
3.5 on a 4.0 scale
ACT/SAT Score     
27 ACT or 1210 SAT (excluding scores from the writing sections).
Additional Assessment                                                 Achieve the proficiency benchmark established for the Ohio Career Technical Competency Assessment (available at http://www.webexam.org/info_docs.asp) or equivalent assessment aligned with state-approved and industry validated technical standards.

ACT/SAT Score                                                          27 ACT or 1210 SAT (excluding scores from the writing sections).  Complete criterion-referenced assessments in a minimum of six academic disciplines
Additional Requirements                                                
Full completion of the Theory of Knowledge Course in metacognition, the Extended Essay project and the 150 hour Creativity, Action and Service (Service-Learning) requirement
